A magical eight-day trip through Thailand that includes visits to the incredible cities of Bangkok, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai. In Bangkok, you will visit the city and its temples with the Grand Palace. In Chiang Rai, you will visit the famous Golden Triangle and tea plantations, and stop at the Blue Temple. In Chiang Mai, you will visit an elephant camp and go on an elephant back safari, a bamboo raft ride and an ox cart ride. You will also visit an orchid plantation and the popular handicraft street.
DAY 01 - BANGKOK
Arrival at Bangkok airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay.
DAYS 02 TO 04 - BANGKOK
Daily breakfast. Free days in the city. Lodging. At destination you will be informed of the exact day of the "Visit of the city and its temples with Grand Palace": At the indicated time, after breakfast, departure from the hotel for a tour of the main avenues of Bangkok, crossing the bustling Chinatown neighborhood and following the course of the Chao Praya River to reach the historic center of the city. Visit the Wat Pho Temple which houses one of the largest reclining Buddhas in the world, the Wat Benjamabophit known as "Marble Temple" and the impressive Grand Palace complex symbol of the city and former official residence of the King of Thailand between the eighteenth and mid-twentieth centuries, one of the most beautiful in the world for its exquisite decoration mixing traditional Thai style with Renaissance influences. During the visit to the Grand Palace includes a visit to Wat Phra Kaew or Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the most important in Thailand. On the way back to the hotel, visit the state-owned gemstone factory.
Note: For the visit to the Grand Palace you should wear long pants to the ankles, long-sleeved shirt / T-shirt or up to the elbow.
DAY 05 - BANGKOK - CHIANG RAI
Breakfast. Transfer to Bangkok airport to take our flight to Chiang Rai (included). Pick up at Chiang Rai airport to drive to the famous "Golden Triangle" of the Mekong River, the eighth longest river in the world, with views of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar and its famous Opium Museum. Lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit some spectacular tea plantations where we will have time to taste teas from the region or enjoy the views from the area. Later, we will stop at the striking Wat Rong Suea Ten or Blue Temple, where you can find paintings in a similar style to the famous White Temple, as it was there that its architect was trained for years. Arrival at the hotel and overnight.
DAY 06 - CHIANG RAI - CHIANG MAI
Breakfast. We will start the day sailing the Maekok River in a traditional Thai boat until we reach the village of the "Gayan" or "Karen" ethnic groups.
Continue to Chiang Mai, stopping at the popular White Temple (Wat Rong Kun in Thai) with its famous bridge. Villagers believe that Buddha
crossed this bridge to preach the dogma for the first time. The white color of the temple represents purity and Buddhist wisdom. Lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Wat Phra Doi Suthep, a temple located on the mountain from where you can enjoy beautiful views of Chiang Mai. Lodging.
DAY 07 - CHIANG MAI
Breakfast and transfer to the elephant camp, where we will see a demonstration of strength and skill of these great creatures. Then, we will start our elephant back safari following the riverbed and crossing the thick jungle vegetation. After the safari, we will descend the river on bamboo rafts and a ride on an ox cart to enjoy the surroundings. Lunch and visit to an orchid plantation where we can witness the unparalleled beauty of this beautiful floral species.
Later we will visit the popular handicraft street, where most of the traditional decorative objects of the north are made, such as hand-painted umbrellas, jewelry, precious stones, wood carvings or silks.
Transfer to the hotel and overnight.
