IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Comfortable and light clothing is recommended for visiting Peru's coastal areas, while warm clothing is recommended for the high Andean zone. It is not recommended that visitors wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or short clothes when visiting religious temples or official buildings. Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
  • Prices per passenger according to the SELECTED accommodation.
  • Reservations must include each passenger's full name, nationality, passport number, age and date of birth.
  • If the hotels suggested / listed for this program are not available at the time of confirmation, Mis Destinos EC will offer new hotel alternatives with revised prices.

  • (**) For luxury category, the train is considered in superior service (360 or Vistadome).
  • Accommodation: Check in from 15h00 and check out at 12h00 noon (SUBJECT TO CHANGE).

  • The first entrance to the citadel requires the mandatory accompaniment of a guide. Please note that the guided tour lasts approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • The entrance to Machu Picchu allows a maximum stay of four (04) hours in the citadel, if you want to stay the whole time inform your guide at the beginning of the tour.
  • The route to visit the Machu Picchu citadel and schedules are subject to availability.
  • For shared service tours, the visit to the Inca Bridge is not included.Luggage handling policies state that when staying overnight in Cusco, luggage will remain in the hotel's storage room.
  • On all train services to Machu Picchu, the passenger may carry on the train to / from Machu Picchu only hand luggage (backpack, purse or briefcase) weighing no more than 5kg / 11lb. You will find your luggage at the chosen hotel.Our lodging rates include breakfast. The breakfasts have assigned schedules according to the policies of each hotel establishment, being usually between 06:00 hrs -10:00 hrs, if passenger has a transfer or retires before the assigned hours, passenger will lose this benefit, not being able to be compensated in another hotel. ITINERARY

DAY 01 - CITY OF ORIGIN - LIMA
Upon arrival at the airport in Lima, a shuttle service will take you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day free to explore the city. The Peruvian capital is a modern metropolis full of history, with some 10 million inhabitants, currently undergoing an exciting process of cultural and economic change.

DAY 02 - LIMA - LARCO MUSEUM & CITY TOUR

Get ready to explore Lima's old town, a Unesco World Heritage Site, which is filled with fascinating historic buildings.Start the tour with the Larco Museum, located in the traditional district of Pueblo Libre and housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion, which itself is built on top of a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid.The museum has a very complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver objects, as well as pieces of erotic art. Next, head to the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by the conquistador Francisco Pizarro to one of his captains, Jerónimo de Aliaga. This is the only house of the period that still belongs to the same family. Continue with a scenic tour of the colonial center. Visit the Plaza de Armas, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. There you will find its magnificent Cathedral, built in the 16th century. Finish the tour returning to your hotel.

DAY 03 - LIMA - CUSCO/ CITY TOUR & ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES
A shuttle will take you to the airport in Lima to take your flight to Cusco (it is suggested to book a flight that arrives before 11:00 a.m.). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your selected hotel.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of this charming city, once the capital of the Inca Empire. The tour begins with a visit to the Convent of Santo Domingo, a large Renaissance-baroque complex, which was built over the Inca temple Coricancha. It was one of the most important temples dedicated to the cult of the sun and its foundations still stand out at the base of the convent. Ancient chronicles say that the temple was covered with gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. After visiting the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas, head to the hills overlooking Cusco to visit the remains of the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, whose imposing walls offer a breathtaking panoramic view of Cusco. Visit the ruins of the temple and amphitheater of Qenqo, where it is believed that the Incas practiced rituals related to agriculture. Finally, visit Puca Pucará (red fortress in Quechua), an Inca military complex located on a prominent hill. You can still appreciate its dwellings, squares, baths, aqueducts, walls and towers.

DAY 4 | CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and taken to the Ollantaytambo train station to begin your adventure to Machu Picchu Pueblo on a route of approximately two and a half hours. Once on the train, you will travel observing the Andean landscapes during a journey of an hour and a half. After arriving at the Aguas Calientes station, our guide will be waiting for you and will accompany you to the departure point of the bus. You will then take a bus for the 25-minute ride uphill to Machu Picchu, known as the "lost city of the Incas".

It is believed that this archaeological site was built in 1450 by the Inca Pachacutec as his vacation home. However, a century later, the city was abandoned after the Spanish conquest, escaping the destruction that struck other Inca settlements.Throughout the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to learn about the origins of this impressive citadel and explore its most outstanding monuments.
After completing the tour, you will take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will enjoy lunch at the restaurant of your choice.After lunch, you can explore the charming town and, at the appropriate time, you can board the return train. The train ride will take an hour and a half and will take you back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation will escort you back to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 5 | CUSCO

DAY 6 | CUSCO - HUMANTAY - CUSCO
Leave the city of Cusco for one of the most spectacular excursions through the Andes Mountains, and immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery, rich culture and vast history of this part of the world. Pass through the archaeological site of Tarawasi, near the town of Limatambo (1.5 hours from Cusco), before continuing to the mountain village of Mollepata, taste the delicious coffee grown in the area and continue to Soraypampa (3,850 masl). From this point, the two-hour ascent to the Humantay lagoon (above 4200 masl) begins. Enjoy one of the most impressive panoramas of the trip, where photography enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get wonderful shots. Finally, begin the descent to Soraypampa for approximately 1.15 hours, where you can enjoy a picnic lunch. Finally, return to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 7 | DEPARTURE FROM CUSCO
A transfer will take you to the Cusco airport to board your flight out of the city.
