Camping- Secret Garden Cotopaxi

This incredible adventure, will take place in the "Secret Garden" of Cotopaxi, an inn that in addition to providing various services and activities, provides the opportunity to do camping in its facilities, The Secret Garden Cotopaxi is located 32 km from Quito and 21 km from Sangolquí.

The province of Cotopaxi was founded as such on April 1, 1851, and was made up of two cantons: Latacunga (capital) and Ambato; by October of that year it was changed to the province of León, as a tribute to the Latacungueño philanthropist Dr. Vicente León y Arguelles. A year later, in 1852, the canton of Pujilí was created and incorporated as the third canton of the new province.

There are several definitions regarding the meaning of the word Cotopaxi; for some it is a Cayapa voice that is broken down as follows: Coto, neck; pag, from pagta, sun and si from shi, sweet. That is to say, "Sweet Neck of the Sun". Others maintain that in the ancient language of the Panzaleos, Cotopaxi means "Throat of Fire". And there are more than a few who claim that Cotopaxi comes from the Quichua word "Cutu", which means neck, and "Pachi", broken.

Day 1

Start of the Tour: 08:00 at departure point.

First stop: Tambillo, stop to buy a snack, use the restrooms and use of ATMs if necessary.

Arrival at destination: 10:00, we will introduce ourselves to the group, we will make a small interaction.

Preparation of the camping area: 11:00, we will start activities, setting up the tents, placing ourselves in the area with the best view of the Cotopaxi Volcano.

Lunch: 13:30, we will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch in the facilities of "The Secret Garden Cotopaxi".

Jacuzzi: We will take advantage of the facilities, and enjoy the hot Jacuzzi, while admiring the spectacular view.

Break: at any time during the afternoon we can serve ourselves hot coffee, tea and snacks before dinner.

Dinner: at 18:30 we will have dinner with the group.

Campfire: at 19:30 we will light the campfire and have a nice time with a small snack, and when we are ready we will get ready for bed!

Day 2:

Breakfast: 8:00 we will enjoy a hearty breakfast before our hike.

Warm up: 9:00 we will do an important warm up and stretch before starting our adventure.

Hike to the waterfalls: 9:30 we will walk for approximately 2 hours to admire the beautiful waterfalls near the Cotopaxi National Park.

Free time: we will have some free time to relax before lunch.

Lunch: at 13:30, we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

Return: at 14:30 we board the bus to return to our point of return, the Alianza Francesa: Av. Eloy Alfaro and Bélgica: at 16:30.
