Pottery is the craft of being able to transform clay into utilitarian ceramics. In Cotacachi there are archaeological remains of the manifestation of this art from about 3,000 years BC, which is the time of the construction of the tolas of the Kara or Karanki culture, according to Lenin Alvear, director of the Museum of Cultures.
We will have the opportunity to learn about the process of pottery, in a pottery workshop with "Mama Urku" and her family, they will teach us their trajectory and trade that goes from generation to generation.
In addition, we will visit the museum of cultures, a cultural exhibition through the visual expression of the customs and traditions of the cultures of Ecuador. An illustrative tour on the forms of coexistence of the native peoples, the objective of the museum is to exhibit the worldview of each of the cultures of Cotacachi.
