On this tour you will be able to visit the beautiful province of Imbabura in just one day. From Quito we will depart towards the first place in Ecuador, where native deer of Peru breed, after a pleasant moment and looking at these beautiful animals, we will move forward to the north passing through the city of Cayambe to have some delicious biscuits for breakfast, the famous biscuits were made known in the region since the arrival of the train to Cayambe in 1928, it has become a delicious Ecuadorian tradition to stop at this place to taste some rich and crispy sponge cakes.
This route is full of beautiful landscapes. We will admire one of them from the viewpoint of San Pablo lake, observing the lagoon next to the imposing Imbabura volcano. We will also visit the Peguche waterfall, which has a waterfall approximately 20 meters high, forming part of the Peguche Protective Forest. Then we will pass through the Plaza de Ponchos in the city of Otavalo, one of the most important markets in the Andes in South America that offers its visitors textiles, crafts and more. Many local and foreign visitors come in search of items, and above all, it is well known because you can negotiate good deals.
Additionally, you can find local food and fruits from all places with a mix of tones and colors. The Otavaleños are well known for their typical clothing and their aptitude for the textile trade. Finally, after a traditional lunch, we will visit the Cuicocha lagoon, before returning to the capital city, Quito.
