In this tour you will be able to visit in just one day, the beautiful province of Imbabura. From Quito we will depart to the north passing through the city of Cayambe tasting delicious biscuits, if you like, you can buy leaf cheese and hot chocolate to accompany your biscuits, the famous biscuits became known in the region since the arrival of the train to Cayambe in 1928, becoming a delicious Ecuadorian tradition to stop in Cayambe to taste some delicious and crunchy biscuits.
This route is full of beautiful landscapes. We will admire one of them from the viewpoint of San Pablo lake, watching the lagoon next to the imposing Imbabura Volcano. We will also visit the Peguche waterfall, which is approximately 20 meters high, forming part of the Peguche Protected Forest. Then we will pass through the Plaza de Ponchos in the city of Otavalo, one of the most important markets of the Andes in South America that offers its visitors textiles, handicrafts where the community of Otavalo is mentioned very early in the morning. Many local and foreign visitors come in search of items, and above all, it is well known because you can negotiate good deals.
Additionally, you can find local food and fruits from all over the place with shades mixed with tones and colors. Otavaleños are well known for their typical clothing and their aptitude for the textile trade. Finally, we will go to Cotacachi, the leather paradise to have a traditional lunch and visit some stores full of different leather products, then we will visit the Cuicocha Lagoons, before returning to the capital city, Quito.
